Giving Back to Those Who Need Some Extra Help

Yes, we are a law firm but, at this time of year, we wanted to take a minute to take our legal hats off and let you know some of the things that have kept us busy this year.

The staff at Wittmer & Linehan PLLC enjoy giving back to our community as well as our clients throughout the year and especially during the holidays. Our office and staff feel privileged to be involved in helping our clients, friends and family in the Sarasota community.

We thought we would give you a brief summary of our activities. Each year, Steve and Greg chose one client each whose family needs a little extra help. Our office administrator, Rebecca Curry, is then given the task of collecting specific items intended to help the families.
Steve chose a single grandmother raising her four grandchildren in Arcadia. This year the family requested clothes for the children to wear to school. Our firm provided an entire school wardrobe for the children along with new backpacks and school supplies. They were excited to receive the new clothes and were excited for the school year to begin.

Greg chose a client in Bradenton who has five small children. Assistance was sought from friends and family of the firm to prepare the children for the school year in August. All of the children were provided with clothes, shoes, backpacks and school supplies.

The firm has been given Christmas lists for the same children and with the assistance of a local dance studio, will provide a special holiday for the family. Steve and Meg Wittmer keep busy with their three daughters Hannah, Greta and Ava. Steve coaches Ava’s basketball team and is actively involved in school and sports activities for his other two daughters. Meg enjoys her time as a board member at Forty Carrots and is involved with the PTO at both Pine View
and Southside Elementary schools.

Greg and Tracy Linehan are equally busy with their three children Graham, Henry and Finley. Greg is on the board of the Sarasota YMCA and coaches his son’s basketball team. Tracy enjoys volunteer work at both Forty Carrots and Phillipi Shores Elementary School.

Our staff is also busy in the community. Michelle Miller and her husband Richard volunteer at the Paver Religious School at Temple Beth Shalom. Their daughter, Richelle, swims with the Sarasota Sharks. Terry Curry is on the board of her granddaughter Leanna’s, preschool. Rebecca Curry is a board member for her daughter Alexis’ soccer club.

Our wish for all of our clients, family and friends is for a happy and safe holiday season and a joyful and prosperous New Year. And, of course, should you need legal assistance in 2008, we are up to the challenge and hope you will call us or recommend us to your friends and family
